"We choose to work with Residency because we believe in the Residency mindset and the importance of assisting those experiencing homelessness...In selecting a company to work with for our ODD apparel we wanted to ensure that each purchase made an impact, not just in supporting our small business, but in changing the lives of those involved in the product chain, and with Residency, we know that impact is huge!"

"Residency has changed the trajectory of my life. Working in a supportive environment has helped me become a better problem-solver and an all-around more disciplined person, both at work and at home. I recently earned my GED and have since enrolled in my first college class. I appreciate learning from Tyler and Hughie, and I want to improve because they set an example of how to work hard with compassion and discipline."

-Nikki Moore, Sales, Research, and Program Associate since 2016

"It was important for us to work with a local company that shares our values and we're so happy to have found Residency. We were beyond thrilled to learn about their mission - helping women transition out of homelessness, something that we strongly support. They've been fantastic at helping us with our ideas and making them come to life. We're super thankful!"

Residency Trauma Therapy Program

The Residency Mindset Trauma Therapy Program is designed for individuals who have successfully transitioned out of the foremost stage of homelessness (meaning participants have work and housing) that want to take the next steps to build a permanently sustainable lifestyle. We see mindset and mental health as the foundations of sustainable living, especially for those who have experienced significant hardship.

The RM Program provides priority-access trauma therapy for women transitioning into permanent housing. Though we've always encouraged therapy for our program members, it has taken up to a year for our staff to gain access to a therapist in the past. Now we can connect program participants with a network of licensed third-party therapists immediately while covering the cost. Rather than acting as counselors ourselves, we're connecting participants to certified therapists in a uniquely expedient and supportive way.

"Why are therapy and mindset important to me? As I write this, April 18, 2022 will be my six-year work anniversary and I can’t believe it’s been that long. For years, I didn’t understand how much I needed therapy and how in a way I was avoiding it. Now, I believe therapy and mindset are important for me because they make me accountable for my well-being and help me deal with the hard feelings of the past. I have Tyler and Hughie to thank for being examples.”

Residency Well-being Mindset

We focus our work, outreach, and media around the idea of creating personal, communal, and environmental well-being. In other words, we're focused on providing unique value to staff and program participants, to our clients, and to our support community. We believe in supportive employment at the highest level and that work should be a place that promotes personal and communal well-being.
